St Mewan Parish Council is saddened to hear that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away on the 8th September 2022.
The Queen has ruled longer than any other Monarch in British history and dedicated her life to public service with dignity and devotion.
Our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.
The Parish Council will provide an opportunity for residents to pay tribute in a Book of Condolence and will be placed in St Marks Church Hall, Sticker, Polgooth Methodist Church and Trewoon Village Hall. Times to be confirmed.


 

Welcome to the official website of St Mewan Parish Council

St Mewan ( Sen Mewan ) is a civil parish and village in South Cornwall.

The village is approximately one mile (1.6km) west of St Austell. It is a small settlement comprising of the parish church, a school and nearby farms. St Mewan parish includes the villages of Sticker with Hewas Water, most of Polgooth with Trelowth, and Trewoon.

St Mewan Parish Council is responsible for an electorate of approximately 3000 people, with 13 Councillors  who serve as the local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in the parish.

It is the first tier of local government closest  to the community and the people. For this reason they are a vital part of any community .

The Parish Council will be placing a Book of Condolence for residents wishing to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the following locations from Saturday 10th September 2022. St Marks Church Hall in Sticker daily from 08.00am to 19.00pm, Polgooth Methodist Church daily from 09.00am to 20.00pm. Trewoon Village Hall, Monday 12th September to Friday 16th September from 10.00am to 15.00pm. Tuesday 13th September from 18.30pm to 19.30pm and Saturday 17th September from 10.00am to 12.00pm.
