IMPORTANT ADVICE ON COVID -19 Most of you are aware through local news there are concerns of the new variant being more transmissible, therefore The Parish Council have been requested to share the following information with our local communities to help slow the spread of the virus and make sure our NHS remains protected. :::Make twice-weekly testing part of your routine so cases can be identified even when people have no symptoms. Public Consultation Community Garden Project in Trewoon Recreational Land

Published: 15 Mar 21

Members were delighted with the responses received via email on the proposed design which included a balance of both positive and negative comments. The parish council appreciate there is still some work to be done to finalise! In order to move the project forward and consider some new ideas suggested by residents but equally mitigate some of concern, the council would like to take this opportunity asking for 4/5 residents to join a small informal working party group with two Councillors where a more detailed discussion can take place. Due to restrictions on holding physical meetings this can only be carried out virtually using the Zoom platform. The consultation is now extended to the 7th April 2021 to invite more comments via email to clerk@stmewanparishcouncil.gov.uk or in writing to Parish Clerk, The Garage, The Chase, Sticker PL26 7HL and for those residents who wish to express and interest in joining an informal working party group. Hard copy of the proposed design will be available in Trewoon Post Office, Trewoon Premier Store and The Wagon Wheel in Trewoon. Thank you. This is the Government’s new financial support package, from November: Similar terms will be extended to self employed people as well. Measures around the coronavirus loans, tax, and VAT for the most at-risk sectors, are designed to help reduce job-losses, but the Chancellor has said that the priority will be to ‘save viable jobs’. You can download the Government’s Winter Economy Plan here. Nothing was said in the Chancellor’s statement about supporting those who have been made redundant, or are experiencing financial hardship, and no confirmation was given about continuing the uplift for Universal Credit. Message from Chairman John Kneller

Message from Chairman John Kneller

Published: 17 Apr 20

As we now enter another 3 weeks of “lockdown” we wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to all of the marvellous volunteers across our communities in our Parish including the village shops. It is also good to acknowledge that we have increased the volunteer numbers to well over 75, up 50% from 3 weeks ago. We have now delivered 2 leaflet drops to all households across the Parish, that’s close to 3000 activities alone plus all of the shopping, prescriptions, papers, and other items to help people who need support at this time. The second leaflet has also initiated contacts from people who are in need of some assistance so that demonstrates that it was the right thing to do, those requests are now being actioned or signposted to the most appropriate support agencies. We have been in regular contact with Cornwall Council, Volunteer Cornwall and Age UK all of whom are highly complimentary of what you are all achieving as they are not receiving requests for assistance from our area because YOU have all got it covered, well done everybody and thanks again. We really do appreciate everybody's efforts, as do those who we are supporting, a quote from Mr Richardson today when I delivered his shopping. ” My wife and I really want to thank all the wonderful volunteers for their support, like so many other people we are shielding for 3 months and we wouldn’t know what to do without your help, it is a real lifeline to have people who we can rely on to help us out at this difficult time.” THANK YOU VERY MUCH, WE ARE SO LUCKY TO LIVE IN REAL COMMUNITIES! Sorry couldn;t resist a sneaky photo of you Mr Chairman on one of your daily deliveries. Glad to see you are using some PPE! Read More...
